Best of luck to the Universal Orlando team with the opening of Epic Universe! Epic Universe is the first Universal or Disney theme park to open in the U.S. in 24 years, since Disney California Adventure opened on Feb. 8, 2001 in Anaheim, Calif. The last traditional theme park to open at the Universal Orlando Resort was Islands of Adventure, back on May 28, 1999.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;d like to be part of the fun from home, Universal Orlando Resort will be livestreaming their grand opening festivities tonight, May 21, 2025.
